1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the SabiKo application ("App"), developed and operated by Angelo Montil, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

If you are using the App on behalf of a minor or someone under your care, you accept these Terms on their behalf and are responsible for their use of the App.

2. Description of Service

SabiKo is an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) mobile application that enables users to communicate using text-to-speech, customizable symbol boards, vocabulary packs, and related features. The App collects anonymous usage analytics to improve the user experience; see our Privacy Policy for details. The App is available in two tiers:

SabiKo Free: Core communication features at no cost
SabiKo Pro: Additional features via a one-time purchase

3. License Grant

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App or its content, nor may you reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code.

4. User Accounts & Profiles

The App supports multiple user profiles on a single device. The free tier includes 1 profile; SabiKo Pro unlocks unlimited profiles. Cloud backup requires authentication via Sign in with Apple (iOS) or Google Sign-In (Android). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple or Google account credentials.

5. Pro & Payments

SabiKo Pro unlocks the App's premium features as a one-time purchase of $9.99 (USD; localized prices may vary by region). There is no subscription, no auto-renewal, and no recurring charges. Once purchased, Pro is yours to keep on the platform where you bought it.

All payments are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, subject to their terms. Prices may change with advance notice. SabiKo previously offered monthly and annual subscriptions; these have been discontinued for new purchases. Any existing legacy subscription remains governed by the store where it was purchased until you cancel it.

6. Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies. We do not process refunds directly. If you have billing concerns, please contact us and we will assist where possible.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App's backend systems
Upload malicious content through custom audio or backup features
Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the App
Use the App in any way that could harm other users

8. Intellectual Property

The App includes content from various sources:

9. Content You Create

You retain ownership of all custom vocabulary, audio recordings, and board configurations you create in the App. By using cloud backup, you grant us a limited license to store and transmit that content solely for the purpose of providing the backup service.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SabiKo, its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Your locally stored data remains on your device. Cloud backup data may be deleted after 90 days of account inactivity.
